Filmmaker Samm Hodges set out to explore mythology in families, epistemology and the importance of story telling in an attempt to explain the phenomenon of Illusions through a dazzling survey of optical trickery that recounts visually confusing images like the Spinning Dancer and the Necker Cube. Mind tricks are two perfectly valid truths, but you can’t see both. Your brain will choose one and lock on it. That’s the nature of illusions.
The film explores the powerful terrain of perception, and how the human brain has a way of filtering out an enormous amount of information from the world that surrounds us, giving us a mere truncated glimpse of the complexity that makes up our everyday lives in the universe.
